Based on the classic novel by Jane Austen,

Jessica Swale's adaptation finds fresh

humor and vitality in the sometimes stuffy

world of the British upper crust.  The

Dashwood sisters are trying to survive

heart break, gender politics, annoying

relatives, mean girls, the equivalent of

social media bullying - all while

maintaining the strict social standards of

the Regency. In the midst of grieving the

death of their father, these sisters have to

learn how to make their way in the world

in spite of merciless gossips and fair-

weather suitors, how to care for each

other, and how to make peace with one

another and themselves.  The production

fuses together live music, stylized

choreography, and the lighthearted

humanity in Austen's characters.  Beneath

the melodrama of circumstance live

relatable, beautiful characters we are

bound to fall in love with.
